WATSON THE TWO GOAL HERO FOR THE MIGHTY MILLERS IN SEMI FINAL!
Carlton Town Joint manager Tommy Brookbanks led the club to numerous promotions in his first spell at the club, but never a Cup Final, well that achilles heel was well and truly put to bed on Tuesday evening as Carlton Town beat Andy Reid’s Nottingham Forest under 23’s 2-1 at Stoke Lane with Nat Watson scoring a brace of headers.
All that remains to be determined is who Carlton will be playing in the final and when and wether it’s the winners medal or the runners up medal that will be making it’s way to Stoke Lane.
That is for another day however, for now it’s time to savour the moment of reaching the final against the talented Nottingham Forest youngsters who themselves played a big part in a thoroughly entertaining game.
A special mention to Forest Legend Andy Reid and to Forest Chairman Nick Randall QC who were both extremely gracious in defeat and wished Carlton well in the final, they are both a massive credit to Nottingham Forest Football Club.
Also a massive thankyou to all who attended including quite a few Notts County fans who were supporting the Millers on the night and a big thankyou to all the sponsors, Mascots and in particular Nottinghamshire’s Director of Cricket Mick Newell who was the club’s special guest and presented Nat Watson with his man of the match award after the final whistle.
More fallout from the game will follow in the coming hours including news of the official attendance, when feedback from the various outlets who were selling tickets is collated.
