BARRY JOINS BOATSY ON THE AWAY COACH AND LOVES EVERY MINUTE OF A LONG DAY !
Carlton Town Vice Chairman Barry North was delighted to make a rare away trip and he enjoyed every minute of it on the official club coach as the Millers ran out 3-0 winners at Heaton Stannington.
A Brilliant Back heeled goal from Khyle Sargent, a Niall Davie header and a well taken far post finish from Lamin Manneh saw the Millers home in a game they dominated large parts of and ran out deserved winners to maintain their unbeaten run.
Barry told us “I can’t get to many away games these days due to personal circumstances, but on Saturday I could and I enjoyed every minute of it.
It meant leaving the home at 8am and I didn’t get home till 10.30pm, so I was a long day, but it does make the journey so much more pleasurable when the lads win.
I thought we were well worth the win and it was a great team performance, but if I was asked to pick anyone out, special mentions for Khyle Sargent and Niall Hylton who I thought were brilliant on the day.
I must also say the hospitality from Heaton Stannington was excellent, i met some lovely people, really friendly and they made us so welcome, I understand from talking to Mick and others that this is the experience we always receive in the North East and is a nice positive to set against the extensive travel time, we were making good time until we approached the Newcastle area and then it was very busy traffic wise.
I am hoping to do another away game soon, hopefully the North Ferriby one”, Barry concluded.
Boatsy pictured with friends from the North East was another who had a lovely day and was delighted Barry was on the coach with him for the long journey and important 3-0 win.
Carlton’s win meant it was 8 games unbeaten on the bounce with 5 wins and 3 draws and the Millers have actually lost only once in the last 12 fixtures after the nightmare that was November 2024.
The Millers have truly put that behind them now and move up to 9th with 48 points from 31 games.
Post match reaction comes from Carlton Town Tv with Lewis Druro and Mark Harvey.
