TWO NEW SIGNINGS FOR THE RUN IN ANNOUNCED BY THE MILLERS !
Carlton Town had to smile on Saturday at the irony, the Millers pitch was fit to play on and indeed the players ended up training on it, but the one game that was cancelled in the league due to a waterlogged pitch was Carlton’s trip to Liversage.
The Millers have had their fair share of postponements this season, but it must be pointed out that they have played only one more away game than home games this season and lost a number of Saturday’s due to early success in the cup competitions, none the less the Millers can not play on their pitch this week due to the number of postponements they have had and their Wednesday night fixture v Pontefract Collieries has to be played on another pitch (Basford United’s) by order of the Northern Premier League.
The one issue now facing the Millers with the Cleethorpes and Liversage away games now being postponed is that the Millers face having to play 4 games in 8 days on at least one of the remaining weeks of the season.
They will now face at least 3 games every 8 days till the end of the season on the rest of the remaining weeks, but will do everything they can to ensure the home games are at Stoke Lane during April, given the devastating inpact it will have on the club’s finances if that is not the case.
With all those games to fit in to a short space of time, Carlton have made 2 signings for the run in. Former Aston Villa under 18 Youth Cup winner, Mamadou Sylla Diallo who was born in Barcelona and is now 21 has been training with the Millers and has now signed for the club with joint manager Tommy Brookbanks excited to get the promising midfielder on a form.
The Millers have also added Neo Saunders, formerly a promising left footed youngster with Notts County to their squad.
Assistant Manager Andy Clerk told us More.
“Neo (pictured) is a left footed player who has played wingback on both sides for Notts County’s B Team. A very versatile player comfortable both at the back and high up the pitch. He’s got tricky feet and a great delivery. He’ll win his 1v1 duals but also add some quality around the box going forward. We look forward to seeing Neo continue his development at Carlton, welcome on board Neo” concluded Clerky.
The final stage of the season is upon us and we will do our very best to keep you all right up to date.
