STUART SCOTT TO REJOIN THE CLUB AS VICE PRESIDENT AND SPIKE STAYING TO
There was another Carlton Town Tv broadcast this evening and it’s fair to say they have been right across big announcements in recent days at the club.
The big announcements tonight were for both on and off the pitch news and while many will rightly be celebrating the news that one of the clubs leading players Alex Howes as signed a new contract and will remain with the club for the 2024-2025 season.
The off the pitch news is equally significant with Stuart Scott coming back, Stuart has been a good friend to the club over many years and played a significant part in it’s development over the early part of the decade.
Following Jackie Norths death last summer, the club left the position of Vice President unfulfilled this term out of respect for Barry and in respect of Jackie’s memory, but as Barry himself acknowledged when the proposal to invite Stuart back was put to him. “The club has to move on and move forward and Stuart’s appointment is a very good one, he’s a top man”
Stuart spoke to us this evening following news of his appointment and told us
“It is an absolute honour to be given the opportunity to follow in Jackie’s shoes, a very special lady. I am absolutely delighted to be what feels like coming home and I can’t wait to get started. Had some of my most enjoyable moments in non league football at Stoke Lane with Tommy and obviously when Tommy left we went on what can only be described as a roller coaster of football emotions, like i say can’t wait to get to work and see if we can as a club take the next step ”
Chairman Mick Garton who spoke to Carlton Town Tv earlier was equally upbeat.
“ First of all I’m delighted that Alex Howes (pictured) is staying with us, when he has a good day, it is usually a very good day and he is a player I particularly enjoy watching.
With regard to Stuart, I am equally delighted, he knows the non league scene as well as anyone and made a great contribution when he was involved a few years ago, we have kept in touch over the years and I’m sure Stuart can play a key role on the board in helping us continue the progress we are keen to make both on and off the pitch” concluded the Millers Chief.
