STOKE LANE EASTER WEEKEND ROUND UP AS ALEX TROKE SPEAKS TO CARLTON TOWN TV

The mission to complete the great escape continued at Stoke Lane with Saturday’s 2-1 win over Consett at Stoke Lane a huge step in the right direction and one player who has played a crucial part in that is the returning Alex Troke.

Troke’s excellent free kick on Saturday crashed against the crossbar, but his crucial penalty kick proved pivotal for The Millers for the second time in recent weeks.

Since Tom Maddison left the club, it has been an Achilles heel for the club and missed penalties have potentially cost them vital points in games, but successful spot kicks at Clethorpes and now at home to Consett have played a vital part in the remarkable revival which has seen Carlton win 5 out of 6 games after looking doomed.

Carlton’s postponed away game at Pontefract has now been rearranged for Tuesday 18th April in Yorkshire.

Massive congratulations to Carlton Town Juniors whose under 9 and under 16s teams won their respected divisions this weekend and wil be invited as special guests to Carlton’s potentially season defining last match at home to Dunston on Saturday 22nd April.

Academy player Maddi who coaches the under 16s was congratulated by the Carlton Town commitee and management team on Saturday and is pictured with Tommy and Mark in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar after the game.

Congratulatoos also to Michael Shipman who with West Brom won the Corporate Hospitality for 4 people at Trent Bridge in the clubs second super number card kindly scratched off by Alex Troke.

Meanwhile the Non League paper have reported today that North Sheilds who potentially could face relegation for failing their ground grading have now raised the vital funds needed to allow the work to be done, all be it after the deadline and are appealing to the Football Association to allow them to retain their step 4 status now they can complete the work.

From a Carlton perspective, Tommy and Mark are determined to stave off relegation on their own merit and not rely of the misfortune of others and friends were certainly made during the North Shields fixtures between rival supporters and indeed it was a ground grading issue at Afc Mansfield that saved Carlton from relegation in Wayne Scott’s final season at Stoke Lane, Carlton will endeavour to survive on their own merit, but realistically know that ground grading issues are always a factor in the final run in.

Finally it’s time to hear from that man Alex Troke who spoke to Carlton Town Tv after his match winning penalty secured Carlton the vital 2-1 win.
