STAMFORD , ELSIE MO, GARFORTH AND PERSIMMON IN THE CARLTON TOWN NEWS ROUND UP.

Welcome to our latest news round up from Stoke Lane and the big news is that the Millers have been drawn at home to Stamford who are top of the Southern Premier League in the First Qualifying round of the Fa Cup on Saturday 31st August.
A big draw indeed, but also a very difficult one against a cracking side who have won their opening three league games this season.
Further details regarding this fixture will follow in due course, but anyone wanting to take up any of the usual Sponsorship packages can contact Boatsy on 07970 034880.

Some fantastic news is next for supporters of the club and indeed from those of Bishop Auckland as on Saturday, Castle Rocks popular Elsie Mo Real Ale will be sold at only £3.50 a bottle.
This is a fantastic special offer and one the club is confident will be appreciated by supporters.

Looking ahead, Carlton play Garforth Town on Bamk Holiday Monday 26th August and although there is no coach for the Cleethorpe trip this week, there will be one for the Garforth away trip with the cost just £15 return.
The coach will leave the ground at 11am and Millers Barn at 11.30am and places can be booked by contacting Boatsty on the above number.

Finally we finish with more good news and it’s no secret that the club have committed a significant amount of budget to the pitch this season and after an approach made to Persimmon builders for some help with this by Chairman Mick Garton and Mark Steggles in the early part of the summer.
We are delighted to report that Dave Hodgson then expertly took up the mantle for the club and after seeing the work that the Millers do in the local community, not only with food banks, but also allowing their pitch and facilities to be used primarily every May to help raise money for local good causes, the club have been awarded a grant of £3,000 by Persimmon towards their costs, which includes the work done with the drains and subsequent re turfing and groundwork carried out during the summer.

Club Captain Niall Davie was among those attending the cheque presentation with Councillors Michael Adams and Sam Smith , Gareth Hankin from Persimmon and Chairman Mick Garton and Dave Hodgson.
