SHERWOOD WIN THE BOXING DAY LOCAL DERBY AT DEBDALE PARK

Carlton Town’s decent run of form over December, came to a frustrating end at Sherwood Colliery on Boxing Day as the Millers lost 1-0 and saw central defender Dean Freeman sent off after receiving two yellow cards.

The Millers dominated large sections of the game, but were unable to find the back of the net and Sherwood Colliery did what they did to the Millers in the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup, got plenty of bodies behind the ball and defended resolutely to defend their first half lead after Alexander Duhameau had given them the lead with a fine strike.

Carlton drop to 11th in the Northern Premier East League after the narrow defeat and face a quick turnaround with Garforh Town visiting the Bill Stokeld Stadium on Saturday.

Carlton will be hoping for a decent crowd on Saturday 3pm, given their fixture is the only one being played in the East League on the day.

Andy Clerke spoke to Carlton Town Tv after the 1-0 defeat and we also have our Boxing Day Quick Fire Five for you featuring Dan Slawson from Proper Football.
The link for that is below the post match interview.
