RECORD ATTENDANCES AND THREE SPONSORS FOR EASTER MONDAY
One of Gary Clarke’s ambitions when he took over as Carlton’s Commercial and Marketing Manager was to help get the gates up to over 200.
That ambition was nearly realised last season with the average up to 187, but this season with another significant increase in numbers, the Millers going into their last home game next Monday are up to an average of 225 and Gary has achieved with the help of others one of his key’s goals.
Credit should indeed go to Boatsy, but also be shared alongside the likes of Ben and Joe in particular and the whole media team, iniatives such as invites for local teams for selected games including our own Juniors, Mapperley All Stars and various other local teams via mascot packages has also contributed to the upsurge.
Common feedback from supporters coming for the first time, is that they enjoy it and come back.
A warm welcome from the supporters club, pre match guests for selected games, the recent Sticky 13 before a match, our big name ambassador Ian Storey-Moore meeting and greeting have all added to the matchday experience.
The revamped bar range and reasonable drink and food prices along with brilliant Dj’s Dan and Alan, Sky Sports and now TNT added recently for pre match and after match big games has also gone down well.
Most of all however as been the entertainment on the pitch and massive credit should go to the players, managers, and all their back room team with the Millers winning 10, drawing 6 and losing only 4 of their 20 games at Stoke Lane.
It’s been a team effort indeed both on and off the pitch and it all comes to a conclusion on the home front next Monday when Carlton take on Sherwood Colliery in a local Derby.
A massive thankyou to those who have once again come forward to take on Sponsorship packages for the last game.
Motors for you have once again sponsored the programme, The Mini Millers have kindly sponsored the Matchball and Carlton Town Under 7s are our final mascots of the season, courtesy of Josh Farrell and Sponsors Joy to Care Ltd.
To put things in perspective, In the 2019-2020 season, Carlton’s average gate was 113 and we were the worst supported team in the league and even though we are still way behind many of our opponents, in 5 years we have doubled that average attendance and everyone involved and especially Gary Clarke (pictured with Paul Manuel, head of our Dorking branch) should be proud indeed !
