REALITY CHECK FOR MILLERS AFTER FANTASTIC WEEK !
Carlton Town were hit with a big dose of realism last night as they suffered another home defeat after many believed they had perhaps turned a corner after last week’s wonderful week, which saw them reach the final of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup against all the odds and then triumph in the big bottom two clash on Saturday at Tadcaster.
The Howard Mitchell Sportsbar was buzzing prior to kick off, but hope turned to despair as Carlton’s poor home form and problems they have encountered all season continued, poor defending, soft goals conceded and numerous chances missed at the opposite end of the pitch.
As Tommy pointed out to Carlton Town Tv after the Shildon defeat, there are still plenty of games to go, but Saturday’s game with Bridlington now takes on extra significance, because Carlton are going to have to turn round their home form sooner rather than later if they are to stand a chance of remaining at this level.
On a positive note, teams around the Millers also had a bad night, but Carlton must improve their own results if they are to stay up as relying on others is dangerous game indeed.
A massive Thankyou from everyone at the club for Scot and his guests for their Match Sponsorship, great guests and great company and Scot is pictured presenting Niall Davie with the sponsors Carlton Town man of the match award, after he continued his fantastic comeback from injury with a goal in an otherwise forgettable night for the Millers.
