RADIO NOTTINGHAM BOOST AHEAD OF “MICKY BARRETT ” TROPHY CLASH AT STOKE LANE!
Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton and Commercial and Marketing Manager Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke have been invited onto Radio Nottingham on Wednesday evening to discuss the Millers pre season and their hopes for the new season just hours before the new fixtures for the 2022/2023 fixtures are revealed on Thursday morning,
The duo will be in the studio from 6pm to 6.30pm with outstanding presenter Arun Verna and are both looking forward to launching the Millers home pre season campaign.
Carlton start their home prevseason campaign this Saturday at home to Clifton All Whites , a game which is the brainchild of Ashley White who has a bar in Prague and also sponsored a game for Carlton last season. The game is in honour of the late Micky Barrett who already has a hugely successful Greyhound named after him, a greyhound that made the National press recently after an amazing run of form saw him win race after race.
Boatsy told us ” We had a fantastic weekend at Merthyr Town, but are now excited to play our first home friendly and the game takes on special significance as it will be held in honour of a local legend to many of us in Mick Barrett, hopefully plenty will come along and raise a glass” said Carlton’s Commercial and Marketing Chief.
“Micky was a massive Forest fan , an All White’s fan and friends with many of us at Carlton Town, he was a gentleman and a gentle giant and now covid restrictions are behind us, pre season seems the perfect time to do something in his honour, we will hold a minutes silence and I have organised with the Notts Fa to have a cup to play for and hopefully we can do this every summer, it will be named the Micky Barrett Trophy and admission will be £5 for all adults and £1 for under 16s with a 3pm kick off” concluded Boatsy
It will be the first chance for many Carlton supporters to see Tommy and Mark’s new signings in action.
