PRESIDENT IS OFF TO SHEFFIELD FOR KEY COURSE OF REHAB AND CARE.
- There is no doubt our Club President would be happy going to watch the Millers play at one of his favourite away grounds Sheffield Fc.
Roger Smith however is going to Sheffield for very different reasons, to begin rehab in hospital there, after 4 operations in less than 3 months involving his neck and spine and various complications that have seen him remain in the QMC for that period.
Roger moves to Sheffield this Tuesday and has asked us to thank everyone who has visited him in hospital in recent weeks including Players, Commitee members and supporters and in particular Tommy (pictured with Roger and the Senior cup) and Tina Brookbanks who have been numerous times in recent weeks.
Roger today asked Dave Hodgson to present his award at Friday’s presentation and told how he was hoping to be back with the Millers early into the new season, but he knows he has some tough weeks ahead to get movement back into his arms and legs etc, after so many weeks in hospital.
Chairman Mick Garton has given Roger key updates with ongoing issues at the club, both good and bad and his family and friends along with everyone at the club will be hoping that the move to Sheffield to start some proper and intensive Rehab will kick start Roger’s recovery and that we all see him back at Stoke Lane sooner rather than later.
