PRAISE FOR PITCH, NEW SPONSOR ON BOARD AND A WIN FOR THE MILLERS.

Friday night was a busy one in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar as Retro Sweet Kings launched their website at the ground and announced away kit Sponsorship, ground advertising and promotional support for the Millers for the 2024-2025 season.
Josh Garton’s entertaining sweet and chocolate quiz was won by Joe Standon and his team, taking home a Retro Sweet Kings hamper , while Kelly won Nottingham Forest Hospitality for a game as Retro Sweet Kings launched an urgent appeal for a new Defibrillator at the club and raised £200 to kick start that appeal.

Onto Saturday and the Millers after two away defeats and a draw in their first friendlies, took to the pitch at Stoke Lane with a squad closer to what is likely to be performing in the Northern Premier East League.

The first praise of the afternoon must go to groundsman Kris and the volunteers who have helped prepare the facilities for the new campaign. Players and supporters commented positively on the condition of the playing surface and it held up well for the Millers first outing at home.

There was a much improved pre season performance from Carlton against the impressive Burton Albion youngsters in a game which came around thanks to Club Ambassador Ian Storey-Moore.
Goals from Lamin Manneh, Alex Howes, Liam Moran and Musa Jawarra saw the Millers home with a comfortable 4-0 win in the end.

Carlton are at home again on Tuesday for their one home midweek friendly against Harrowby United 7.45pm.

A reminder that the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar is open this evening for the massive England v Spain game which will be shown live at 8pm, the bar will be open at 6.30pm and decorated once again by Kelly and Elaine.

Carlton Town Tv caught up with Assistant Manager Andy Clerke after the 4-0 win.
