NEXT STAGE OF GROUND IMPROVEMENTS BEGIN AT STOKE LANE!
Carlton Town have today begun the latest stage of ground improvements in their hope of securing Northern Premier League Premiership Ground status.
A third turnstile, kindly donated by Leicestershire County Cricket Club is about to be installed in a different location to the main turnstiles and the club’s CCTV system is to be extended and updated.
Funds secured by Chairman Mick Garton and Strategic Development Officer Dave Hodgson have already been spent primarily on the club’s car park and phase 2 is beginning now, with a deadline to complete the work forming part of the club’s contract with Gedling Borough Council.
Boatsy has took a hands on approach to the work and with help from friend of the club, local Builder Karl Smith and his own boss Mark and colleagues at Oakfield Construction along with other Local companies Oakfield work with, he has been able to keep costs down and ensure the important CCTV work can also go ahead.
Work has already started as shown in the cover picture, which shows the new footpath being dug out for the new turnstile and work to complete this will continue in the coming days. Supporters will be able to see the progress at the Tuesday night fixture with Sporting Khalsa.
