SIGNIFICANT NEWS UPDATE FROM STOKE LANE AHEAD OF ASHINGTON CLASH
Carlton Town were to delighted to get back onto the pitch this week and complete a 2-0 win in the second round of the Notts Senior Cup at Newark and Sherwood Fc.
Carlton are next in action on Saturday when they visit Ashington and return travel can be booked at just £15 via Boatsy on 07907 064189 with the coach leaving the ground at 8.30am on Saturday and Millers Barn at 9am.
Boatsy is also on the lookout for kit support sponsorship for new signing Ahmed Tahar (pictured) at £110 Home and Away or £60 for either one. Ahmed has impressed everyone at the club in his first two games for the Millers and anyone or a company wishing to sponsor him can contact Boatsy on the above number.
Boatsy and Chairman Mick Garton have already started on the route of securing raffle prizes for the big Christmas draw set to take place on Tuesday 19th December in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar and any help in both securing prizes and selling tickets would be greatly appreciated by the club.
This website is aware of the significant challenges facing the club financially, particularly in view of the horrendous travel costs since being moved to the Northern Premier East League and the Christmas draw is vital to help meet crucial costs at Stoke Lane.
The next home game v Brighouse on Saturday 18th November is set to be special and we understand, the VIP guest or maybe guests will be top draw indeed and we have also been told by Alan Murphy that the next 200 Club draw will be held after that game. There is a very small window of opportunity for anyone wishing to join the 200 Club at only £10 a month. Numbers when they come up usually go quickly and we have 5 available at the moment which are on a first come, first served basis. Contact Boatsy if you wish to come on board and potentially win one of 6 cash prizes every month with a substantial bonus prize every quarter.
Finally the club are trying something different over the Festive Season, something they have never done before. Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks told us that it was something tried at a previous club he had managed and resulted in a really good attendance on the night and with Nottingham Forest playing Manchester United on Saturday 30th December.
The club have agreed with Grimsby Borough to sign off Christmas by playing the fixture scheduled for New Year’s Day on Friday 29th December at Stoke Lane 7.45pm. To the best of our knowledge, it will be the first time that Carlton have played a home game on a Friday night, so the club will try and make it a special night.
