NEW MIDFIELDER SIGNING FOR THE MILLERS FOLLOWING GREG’S DEPATURE
Carlton Town are delighted to announce the signing of another exciting young player following the departure of Greg Tempest last week.
Sam Hooper who has spent pretty much his whole youth career with Chesterfield Fc, 9 years in fact, but the 19 year old is ready to tackle the Northern Premier East League with the Millers.
The Carlton management team were left impressed after the young midfielder stood out for Grantham Town where he was on loan in their big bank holiday local Derby on Easter Monday at Stoke Lane.
Carlton Town legends Martin and David Jepson are among those to wax lyrical to Tommy about the talented youngster and Tommy told us “ I was surprised Chesterfield realeased him to be honest and as soon as Greg let us know his career was taking a different path, we had to move quickly and I am delighted Sam has chosen to join Carlton, he had other choices to”
”He had successful loan spells at both Matlock Town and Grantham Town and indeed help keep the Gingerbread’s up and we welcome him to Stoke Lane” concluded Tommy.
Sam will be available to sponsor home and away in the usual way and indeed we will be getting an update off Boatsy soon about who is left to sponsor after the renewal date passed on Saturday.
There will also be an announcement on season ticket prices this week and the club can also report that the pre season friendly with Clifton has had to be postponed this year as Clifton’s season is starting earlier than they expected .
Clerky is actively looking to fill the void left on Saturday 27th July, but has announced a mouthwatering final friendly on Saturday 3rd August at home to Alvechurch from the Southern Premier League, a massive Thankyou to Vice President Stuart Scott for helping sort this.
