MORE FRUSTATION , CARLTON V BRIDLINGTON IS OFF !
Carlton Town had a bumper Saturday planned with training kit sponsors, Gilbert Wealth and A W Lymn funeral directors the club’s very special guests and supporters coming from Dorking and Brighton to name but 2 places.
Chuck in the Matchday sponsors, the food bank , the £500 Superdraw and the fact Carlton had agreed to kick off at 1pm to allow the Bridlington team and their supporters to get back to Yorkshire to watch the England game and you can imagine how disappointing it is for the Millers to see their second fixture this week postponed after the Northern Premiere League allowed early pitch inspections given the freezing conditions.
On a positive note, the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Commercial manager have put some money behind the bar to allow the players and management to have a Christmas drink or two and we are told there is enough in the kitty for any season ticket holders or sponsors to enjoy a beverage to if they want to venture down in the early afternoon, the players are training from 12noon.
Regarding the Foodbank, the club are asking people still to pop in and donate and all food donated will be given to Nicki Brookes to distribute on the night of the Christmas draw on Tuesday 20th December. The club are conscious that their Foodbank is really important to local people during these difficult times and are hoping people will still drop something in.
Gregs £500 Football number card to raise money for away travel will now be concluded when it is full in the new year after this setback , but the Christmas draw will still go ahead on Tuesday 20th December, the club are asking everyone to please support this vital fundraiser. The time of the draw and more prize details will be announced in the coming days.
Finally , due to the Millers postponement, the bar will not be open sadly for the England World Cup quarter final !
