MILLERS WIN AGAIN, UNBEATEN RUN NOW UP TO TEN GAMES !
Carlton Town produced the perfect away win on a ground at which they do not have the best of records.
There was the Jamie Vardy inspired Play off defeat all those years ago and it really has not got much better since for the Millers at Stocksbridge, but Saturday 15th March 2025 was different and there were many happy Millers in the Stocksbridge bar afterwards.
Carlton were missing the excellent Dan Brown, but Lawrence Stuart brilliantly stepped up to the plate alongside Dean Freeman at centre back and after Stocksbridge had the best of the opening 10 minutes, the Millers grew into the game and never really looked back.
Man of the match Khyle Sargent should have given Carlton the lead, but put his effort wide with the keeper motionless, but he soon made amends with his second chance, getting on the end of a near post corner from Lamin.
Carlton pretty much took control from that moment onwards and although Stocksbridge had their moments and certainly played their part in a reasonably entertaining game, Carlton remained comfortable and despite a fine late save from Felix and some decent crosses that he and his defenders dealt with, it was the Millers that would go on and get the second goal.
That came from the ever improving Liam Moran who worked his socks off all afternoon and finished his one on one brilliantly to put the game to bed for the Millers.
The 2-0 win means the Millers move onto 54 points from 33 games, but remain 8th, ten points away from the Play off zone, but Carlton do have two games in hand on most of the clubs above them.
The fact Carlton are now 10 games unbeaten, but from mid table, have only climbed up slightly, just shows how tough this division is and the Millers remain underdogs for a playoff place, but are most certainly giving it a go.
Carlton Town Tv was right across this excellent away win and spoke to joint Manager Mark Harvey and Ollie Clarke post match at the ground.
