MILLERS STRIKE BACK AT STOKE LANE AFTER BOXING DAY SET BACK !

uh Carlton Town and Garforth Town had both played on Boxing Day, so had only a days rest before stepping back up to the plate at Stoke Lane and both teams served up a treat in front of another crowd of over 200.

A decent travelling contingent was significant on this occasion in boosting the attendance and the new look range of Beer, Cider and a couple of new Real Ales replacing the Green King options went down well, with both sets of fans in a packed Howard Mitchell Sportsbar (pictured) and got the new partnership with Budweiser off to a cracking start with Mahoh, Koppenburg and Camden Pale all going down a storm and supporters appreciative that all the new beers were available for below the £5 mark, even though they are premium brands.

Jane’s Mince Pies and Jam Tarts made a welcome festive return to the Bill Stokeld Stadium and John Desmond Bryson should be proud indeed of his beloved wife Jane.

Enough about Beer and Cakes, what supporters really want is a performance on the pitch and it was here that the Millers delivered.

Liam Moran was back in the side up front, giving the Millers a focal point and a superb long range finish from Khyle Sargent got the Millers up and running, before Lawrence Stewart added a second, but Garforth were always very much in this game and pulled one back through Harry Viggars shortly before the interval and shouts of Yorkshire, Yorkshire rang out from the visiting supporters.

The next goal was always going to be crucial and how and it was Lamin Manneh with a superb run and finish who scored it.
Carlton had chances to add more, but were also grateful at the other end to Felix who made a number of fine saves throughout this game

The 3-1 win made it three home wins in a row for the Millers.

Special mentions for Dan Brown and Charlie Carter who were also superb and our returning Media Correspondent Josh Hodgson who helped out in the packed Howard Mitchell Sportsbar, before speaking to Tommy Brookbanks and Lawrence Gorman post match for Carlton Town Tv.
