MILLERS SEEKING SUPPORT FOR FIREWORK EXTRAVAGANZA!
Since the end of lockdown, Carlton have proudly stepped up to the plate in their role in the local community supporting a number of charities including our Main Charity partner World Game Changers along with Forever Stars, Ac Wollaton, Florentina’s steps and the Netherfield Food Bank last weekend and today they have received a lovely message from the food bank.
Dear Mr GartonJust to say – we were overwhelmed by the scale of the most generous food collection from the Club this week. We appreciate this very much indeed. The donations help keep the food bank operating from week to week, and help to avoid having to buy in items which are needed. Please do thank all those who have helped to make the delivery happen.Attached is a small thank you poster, which you may wish to display.Thanking you againBest wishesAvril Rathbone – Team Admin. This website understands 225.40 Kilos was collected which councillor Nicki Brooks described as a significant and much needed donation.Chairman Mick Garton and Strategic Development Officer Dave Hodgson met this week and agreed another collection would be in order on Firework Extravaganza night, but also agreed the Millers also need to focus on raising money for themselves as all the regular costs of operating the football club are kicking back including in particular maintanance costs, Stadium rental and utilitie invoices. The Millers have missed out on their annual race day income this year and are hoping the public and potential doners will get behind the Firework Extravaganza. The club has to make a financial commitment to put the night on which is in excess of £2,000 and are looking for donations and sponsors to support what is a fantastic community event on Friday 29th October.Details of attractions and lmpressive admission prices will follow in the coming days as the club attempts to start running once again on its own two feet, any support any one can give for this event would be a brilliant start!
