MILLERS PARTNER WITH BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH WITH SUPERB NEW AWAY KIT!
Carlton Town Football Club are delighted to reveal their new Away Kit and it’s a special one.
For the first time ever, The Millers have donated the front of shirt sponsor to a charity.
For the 2022/23 season, the team will be sporting a pink shirt emblazoned with the Brain Tumour Researchcharity’s logo.
The shirts will go on sale in the next few days and will be priced at £36 with a percentage of each sale going directly to the charity. In another initiative, there is a “Pay What You Want” option. The minimum amount will still be £36 but if you want to pay more than this then 100% of the additional income will go to Brain Tumour Research.
The club have decided to support this charity following Tom Claypole’s diagnosis of a Stage 4 glioblastomamultiforme (GBM) Brain Tumour last summer. Tom is the 39-year-old son of our Director of Football Darryl Claypole.
Darryl said: “Brain Tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, yet historically less than 1% of all money spent annually on research is towards this devastating disease. As a family we have embarked on a number of fundraising challenges, but I am really excited about the new away shirt.”
Darryl continued: “I am really grateful for Chairman Mick Garton agreeing to this. It’s a fantastic gesture and I would kindly ask as many Carlton Town fans to purchase this shirt so we can raise much needed funds into research but also spread awareness of this fantastic charity and the great work they do.”
Mick Garton added: “We are delighted to be able to support Darryl and Brain Tumour Research. We know how personal this is to him so anything we can do as a club to help we will do. Not only is it supporting a worthwhile cause but it’s also a fantastic looking kit and we are thankful to our partners EV2 Sportswear for designing and producing it.”
Matthew Price, community development manager at Brain Tumour Research said: “We’re really grateful to Darryl and everyone at Carlton Town Football Club, as it’s only with the support of people like them that we’re able to progress our research into brain tumours and improve the outcome for patients like Tom who are forced to fight this awful disease.
“Unlike many other cancers, brain tumours are indiscriminate. They can affect anyone at any time. Too little is known about the causes and that is why increased investment in research is vital.”
New Centre Half Jake Hoult was the first player to try out the new shirt and is pictured at Stoke Lane.
