MILLERS MOVE INTO THE PLAYOFF PLACES AFTER ANOTHER FINE AWAY WIN
This time last season, Carlton were fighting frantically to remain at step 4 and indeed looked favourites to go down.
Fast forward 12 months and the Millers have gate crashed the playoffs after another outstanding away win, this time at Newton Aycliffe who were above the Millers in the table prior to kick off.
Carlton have now beaten Stockton, Dunston and Pontefract Colliers as well on their own grounds, 3 of the 4 teams above them to put themselves in with a chance of promotion.
The Millers are now 5th with 59 points from 33 games and have also jumped above Derbyshire neighbours Belper Town for the first time in a long time, they suffered a 5-0 home defeat to in form Cleethorpes.
Stockton Town had a surprise 1-0 defeat at bottom club Winterton, while second placed Hebburn Town who beat the Millers in midweek had a 3-0 win at Grimsby Borough to move within 5 points of Stockton with 3 games in hands.
In other scores affecting the playoff zone, Pontefract Collieries had a fine 4-1 away win at Brighouse Town while Dunston went down 3-2 at much improved Sheffield Fc.
Carlton have the best away record in the league winning 11 of 17 away games so far and the goals were shared out with Niall Hylton, skipper Niall Davie and Nat Watson all on the scoresheet for the Millers.
