MILLERS INTO SEMI FINALS AND SUPPORTER HAS FIRST KNOWN CARLTON TOWN TATTOO!
Arron O’Connor delivered on the big stage for Carlton Town Fc in the quarter finals of the Notts Senior Cup at Ollerton Town Fc on Wednesday evening.
Carlton Town Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks said that of all his years in football, he could not remember playing in such horrendous blizzard conditions.
Carlton through the brilliant Nat Watson had the advantage of the wind and 2 Nat goals to thank for their 2-0 half time lead.
Brookbanks generously paid tribute to Ollerton for their barn storming comeback with the home side making the score 2-2 in 2 dramatic second half minutes, but also admitted his team had struggled to cope with the ever increasing intensity of the wind in the second half with the Millers goalkeeper and defence seeing the Ball boomerang back past them when they attempted to play if forward.
“It seemed to get worse has the second half progressed and we looked as though we could be on the way out, but massive credit to Arron O’Conner , he was struggling to control the ball, but did and what a brilliant finish into the corner “ said Brookbanks.
“It was a difficult night and a massive potential Banana skin, so well done to our lads for coming through the tie and getting the result “ said Brookbanks “
Millers Commercial Manager Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke told a similar story “It was left to the class of Arron O’Connor with a brilliant run and finish following a Nial Davie pass to secure the Millers a 3-2 win” he told us and now there is a semi Final to look forward to in the coming weeks in what is turning out to be a very good season for the Millers.
One of our supporters has revealed the first known Carlton Town Tattoo, we wonder who it belongs to, any idea folks ?
