MILLERS IN THE LAP OF THE WEATHER GODS WITH TWO HOME GAMES SCHEDULED THIS WEEK
Carlton Town are hoping their scheduled Tuesday night fixture with Cleethorpes will go ahead, but the fixture is well and truly in the lap of the weather gods.
The Sunday morning snow has cleared, but heavy rain on Sunday night and pretty much all day Monday means the match will no doubt be subject to a Tuesday afternoon pitch inspection.
The club are praying for a dry Tuesday to give the game a chance of going ahead and are concerned of a fixture back log, something they suffered under Wayne Scott a few years ago.
On Saturday Carlton welcome Liversage to the Bill Stokeld Stadium and the game is earmarked as a Food Bank game for the Netherfield Food Bank.
We have spoken to our friends at Netherfield and they would be grateful of the following products.
The Food bank needs: small squash, uht milk, pasta sauce (but not pasta), tinned fruit, instant mash sachets, toilet rolls, cleaning spray, mens deodorant and body wash/shampoo.
The whole Northern Premier East League was postponed on Saturday and the games have all been rescheduled for Saturday 10th February including Carlton’s trip to Dunston.
Boatsy has already started taking bookings for the first away game in the new year when the Millers visit North Ferriby on Saturday 8th January and he can be contacted in the usual way on social media or on 07907 064189.
Carlton also have away games at Sheffield Fc on Saturday 16th December and Grantham Town on Boxing Day.
We can also confirm that the home fixture v Stockton has been rescheduled for Tuesday 16th January.
The Carlton Town family are all hoping for a break in the weather, so as to get the show back on the road, but their fate remains very much in the hands of the weather gods.
