MILLERS BACK AT STOKE LANE FOLLOWING HELP FROM TRENT BRIDGE !
Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton personally wrote to the Northern Premier League this week asking for fixtures to be allowed to be played at Stoke Lane in April following the news that their remaining March fixture had to be played away from Stoke Lane due to the number of postponements this season and in particular recently.
The league have acknowledged the measures taken by the club, to do their very best to get fixtures on at the ground in the coming weeks and in particular the involvement of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and their expert advice and the help of club volunteers and the league’s executive committee have today told the club that they are allowing fixtures to be played back at the ground from April 1st onwards.
The club are receiving state of the art weather Satellite reports from Trent Bridge, so they know when to cover the most problematic area and when not to and the club have today taken delivery of some specialist Sports pitch sand to work into the ground over the coming days.
Volunteers are asked for to help assist the groundsman with this process on particular on this coming Friday (Good Friday) and next Monday ahead of the big bank holiday Grantham clash and with rain coming on and off according to forecasts in the coming days, individuals are asked to bring forks and reproduce the efforts produced ahead of the Bridlington game if it is so required.
Volunteers are asked to come forward via the supporters club in the usual way and the club would be extremely grateful of anyone who can help, the movement of games away from Stoke Lane during April would have devastating financial consequences for the club and this sanction could easily be reimposed if games are once again called off. If anyone who wants to help can’t make it on Friday or Monday, Sunday is also an option.
