MASSIVE TEST FOR MILLERS ON SATURDAY AS STOCKTON COME TO TOWN
Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks predicted early in the season that Stockton would win the Northern Premier East league this season and he looks like being proved right as they have opened up a healthy lead at the top of the table.
Carlton are desperate for Saturday’s game to go ahead , the players have not played for 2 weeks, the club are suffering significant cash flow issues with all the Saturday postponements and the supporters are known to be equally frustrated.
Reports from the Bill Stokeld Stadium are encouraging with the pitch having firmed up again and prospects for Saturday are good, with the forecast not at the moment looking to bad.
With Nottingham Forest away at Brighton on the Sunday, Carlton are hoping a few Forest fans will come and lend their support and that the table toppers will bring a few fans to Nottingham.
It will be tough indeed for the Millers, but fresh in their minds will be the 5-0 win over Bridlington the last time out at the Bill Stokeld Stadium.
Carlton have also today received confirmation of rearranged games with the Millers visiting Cleethorpes on Wednesday 27th March and Ossett now visiting Stoke Lane on Tuesday 16th April. The home fixture with Pontefract has already been comfirmed for Tuesday 19th April.
Carlton have proposed Tuesday 9th April for their fixture with Consett at Stoke Lane, but this as has not yet been confirmed by the league, although the Millers are confident that this will probably be the agreed date.
Hebburn are also scheduled to visit Stoke Lane next Tuesday 12th March 7.45pm.
Finally congratulations to our former massively popular striker Arron Opoku and his partner Molly who has given birth to a baby girl who they have proudly named Nova.
