LOVELY SERVICE FOR JACKIE IN LEICESTERSHIRE THIS AFTERNOON

Jackie North the club’s Vice President and loving wife to Vice Chairman Barry North was laid to rest in Leicestershire this afternoon at a lovely service at Gilroes Crematorium.

There were fitting tributes from the family to a remarkable lady and it was good to see representatives from clubs she had previously been involved with Gresley Rovers and Shepshed Dynamoes attending the moving service along with of course the Carlton Town contingent.

Indeed the friendly with Shepshed at Stoke Lane on Saturday 29th July will be played in Jackie’s memory and is being sponsored by Barry North with a special tribute programme being produced for the game by Joe Standon. Officials from both clubs spoke together at the funeral and agreed to make sure it was a special afternoon.

Chairman Mick Garton and Commercial and Marketing Manager Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke used a slot they had been granted on Radio Nottingham this evening to praise Jackie along with discussing all things coming up Carlton Town.
