KHALSA FIGHT BACK, OWEN A HIT AND COACH DETAILS FOR SPALDING TRIP!
Carlton Town surrendered a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 with Sporting Khalsa at Stoke Lane on Tuesday evening and in the process fell a little further behind in their quest for a playoff place.
Ilkeston, Stamford, Belper and Chasetown all won again to leave Carlton 7 points outside the playoffs in 6th position, a position they have occupied for some time.
The evening started with Brilliant Talk Sport Host and Film Maker Jonny Owen speaking in the Clubhouse with Chairman Mick Garton for Carlton Town Tv.
The measure of how good a guest is, can often be judged on how quiet the audience are in listening to what is being said and the audience here at Carlton Town were in listening mood and delighted to have the presenter as the club’s very special guest.
Goals for Arron O Connor and Arron Opoku saw Carlton race into a first half lead, but Sporting Khalsa are a decent side and fought back to claim a share of the points.
Khyle Sargent won the Match Ball Sponsors Man of the Match award and was presented with his prize in the boardroom by Jonny Owen and both were spoken to by Carlton’s Senior Media Correspondent Josh Hodgson. Tommy Brookbanks was also spoken to by Josh for Carlton Town Tv and both interviews have been put out on Twitter.
Club Secretary Trevor Wells has revealed that the club will once again be running a coach for Saturday’s trip to Spalding and that there will be pick ups at the ground and Bingham at the Shell Garage. The coach will leave the ground at 11.30am and the pick up from Bingham will be at 11.50am, the cost for supporters is £10 per person as usual.
Jonny Owen was a very special guest indeed and is Pictured with Joint Millers Manager Tommy Brookbanks in the Chuck Fowler Suite after the game and his interview with the Chairman is featured below.
