JACK OFF TO LINCOLN WITH VERY BEST WISHES FROM EVERYONE AT THE CLUB.
Goalkeeper Jack Steggles is to leave the club after 8 brilliant years, first with the Academy, before becoming regular first team goalkeeper under Wayne Scott .
Steggles put in many fantastic performances for the club and was an instrumental part of the Senior Cup winning squad at Meadow Lane when the Millers beat Basford United.
He was the first signing Tommy Brookbanks made when he returned to the club as Joint Manager and helped lead the Millers to a playoff position before the 2019/2020 season was cut short due to Covid.
He finally lost his place this season to Kieran Preston but still starred in Fa cup wins with some fantastic saves in 2 penalty shoot outs.
He was undoubtedly one of the most popular players among supporters and staff at the club and it is sad to see him go said Chairman Mick Garton.
”Jack is a brilliant lad who has made a massive contribution to this football club over many years and help this club win many games with some top draw performances and I genuinely both on behalf of the club and on a personal level wish him all the very best at Lincoln United”
Tommy Brookbanks thanked Jack for his huge commitment and brilliant attitude over the last 3 seasons that he and Mark had been in charge and also wished Jack all the very best and told us he had waived the usual 7 days so Jack will be free to debut immediately the transfer as gone through.
Jack himself had a message for everyone too.
“The time has come for me to leave Carlton, after 8 years at the club. I’ve had some great times and have memories that will last a lifetime.
I would like to personally thank Mick for everything you’ve done for me and the club during this time and Tommy and Mark for the guidance and support over the past 2 seasons.
I would like to give a special mention to Jamie and all of the bar staff, throughout my time at Carlton, you’ve always been there, game days, training, fundraiser, you name it you guys have always been there to show us your support.
Thank you to the fans, you’ve been amazing and hopefully one day we will cross paths again.
Finally I would like to thank Bob Sharpe for sponsoring me over the past 8 years, the support you have shown me has been paramount and I will always be grateful for that.
I wish the whole squad, all the best for the rest of the season “ 💙💛
