HOWEY GOES DOWN A STORM AT THE BILL WITH A FANTASTIC SET
Carlton Town’s Christmas Luncheon has now become a legendary event in its own right and the 2024 version did not disappoint.
Former Newcastle United, Manchester City and England star Steve Howey was on fine form in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar with some fantastic stories from his playing days and the audience loved it.
The club also raised some vital funds at a crucial time, bearing in mind last weeks break in and an extremely high Water Rates bill, which is currently being investigated by Water Plus.
Pork, stuffing, parsnips along with baked and new potatoes and rich Gravy followed by Gateau or cheesecake was this years fantastic offering from Martyn Poxon.
Kelly had decorated the tables and given them her own personal touch with nibbles and crackers and the Christmas music channel played out on the clubs three screens for what is to many, the official start to Christmas.
This years Trust Me prize was special indeed with Joint Manager Mark Harvey winning a signed Taylor Swift Montage and their were several consolation prizes of 2 tickets each for an evening with Jimmy White at the Southbank bar on Friar Lane this coming week, kindly donated by Tom and Owen from the Great Northern group.
There were plenty of Ian Storey-Moore signed pictures won to and our esteemed Ambassador looked after special guest Steve Howey.
Thankyou’s as well to MSR Newsgroup, Lindleys, Stuart Scott, Dave Perrin and Boatsy who all made significant contributions to the fund raising prize table.
A massive thankyou to our great friends at Castle Rock for once again sponsoring this superb event and in particular Ian who hosted the top table and a big well done to Pascoe, Elaine , Gaz and Tim for all their hard work, it was Pascoe’s first Christmas Luncheon and he said he had really enjoyed it , but was clearly ready for a sit down at the end.
The next speakers event will be announced in the new year and is likely to be in March, thankyou to everyone who came for your fantastic support.
