HEAVY RAIN HITS MILLERS AGAIN AS NORTH EAST TEAMS TIGHTEN THEIR GRIP AT THE TOP.
Carlton Town were disappointed to once again fall foul of the weather with heavy rain causing the postponement of the game v Liversedge. Carlton had built quite a lot of activitiy around the fixture as they did on Tuesday 31st October for their Halloween clash with Cleethorpes, which also got postponed.
The Millers were able to defeat Cleethorpes on Tuesday night in the rearranged fixture and will attempt to reschedule the Burton Joyce invite and have already spoke to the Netherfield Foodbank and we can confirm the collection will now take place on the night of our home game v Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday 19th December.
Tuesday 19th December will be a special night indeed with the Christmas draw, Foodbank collection and an all important game taking part under the floodlights at Stoke Lane.
While Carlton were not playing, the North East power houses of Stockton, Hebburn and Consett strengthened their position at the top of the table. Stockton thrashed Grantham 4-0 at Grantham, Hebburn visited and beat Bridlington Town 1-0 while Consett defeated Grimsby Borough 2-0.
The Millers remain 6th and next Saturday visit Sheffield Fc, an away game our supporters truly love. After the Newton Aycliffe home game on December 19th, the Millers travel to Grantham Town on Boxing Day, before Grimsby Borough visit Stoke Lane on Friday 29th December for the Millers first ever Friday night game.
An improved weather picture is the big Christmas wish from everyone involved at Stoke Lane !
