SARGENT ON THE MONEY TO EARN MILLERS A POINT AND TEMPEST CONFIRMED HAS PART OF THE COACHING TEAM !

Carlton Town picked up an excellent point at Consett after the long Saturday trip to the North East and remain 10th in the Northern Premier East League, while Consett are 13th after the 1-1 draw.

The Millers had Khyle Sargent (pictured) to thank for his 37th minute equaliser after Charlie Exley had given Consett a 29th minute lead in front of a crowd of 249 on a cold Northern afternoon.

The afternoon could have been very different for the Millers, had brilliant efforts from Nat Watson and Lamin Manneh not hit the woodwork in the first half, but a point at Consett should not be sniffed at, it’s not a ground that Carlton would call a previous happy hunting ground.

The Millers are back on the road when they travel to Liversage on Tuesday evening for a 7.45pm kick off in Yorkshire.

The Millers also confirmed to us today than Greg Tempest who has rejoined  the club and came on as a late substitute at Consett, has also become part of the coaching team at Stoke Lane.

Andy Clerke spoke to u earlier and told us.

“All at Carlton are delighted to announce Greg Tempest as player / coach at the club.

When Greg returned to the club we knew he would support our efforts both on & off the pitch and we feel that this announcement reflects his position correctly.

This is a great statement in our ambition for the rest of the 2024/25 season”

Clerky was also on hand to give his thoughts on the 1-1 draw at Consett to Carlton Town Tv and spoke to Alan Murphy after the game.
