GREAT NON LEAGUE DAY AT STOKE LANE BUT WINNING RUN COMES TO AN END!
It was an iconic occasion at Carlton Town, Non League Day celebrated in true style with ex Watford and Derby winger Nigel Callaghan providing the pre match entertainment.
Proper Football were in the house and we can’t wait for their blog which features interviews with Management from both clubs, supporters , Talk Sports Jonny Owen (pictured with Cally) who was supporting the Millers, Forest legend Ian Storey Moore and returning Carlton Town star Alex Troke.
The atmosphere inside The Howard Mitchell Sportsbar was special indeed with Dan Thorpe producing one of the best Dj Sets ever put on at the ground and people stayed long after the game to hear Dan tunes, he was on fire!
The Mascots from Lowdham Colts had a great time, the sponsors were out in force and a crowd of 224 was decent indeed and The Miller Mouse was at her very best.
Carlton were much improved on the pitch as well, but their home winning form which has been awful this season continues to desert them , despite the 4 away wins on the bounce.
Stockley looked every inch like promotion challenges in every way, first on the offensive as they dominated the opening exchanges and took a deserved lead through a penalty and then on the back foot as they defended their lead despite constant Millers pressure, particularly in the second half. Tommy Brookbanks through the kitchen sink at trying to get the equaliser, but with 5 attackers on the pitch, it was not a massive surprise when Stockton added a second in stoppage time.
Carlton are back in the relegation playoff spots with most of the club’s around them winning and know they still have much work to do if they are to avoid the dreaded drop.
