FOODBANK APPEAL EXTENTED TO BOXING DAY AS OSSETT GAME FALLS FOUL OF THE WEATHER !
Carlton Town received the news they were sadly expecting when the clash with Ossett United scheduled for Saturday was called off following a Friday afternoon pitch inspection.
Carlton Town supporters club chief Alan Murphy contacted the club this week and suggested the club speak with representatives of the local food bank to see if we could put the collection Day back to Boxing Day. Following those talks with club Chairman Mick Garton, that has now been agreed and supporters are asked to bring their donations to that game to provide food for those struggling to afford it after Santa has done his rounds.
All involved with the club are reminded that their last chance to purchase tickets for Tuesday’s big Christmas draw is looming and the club are hoping that everyone will support the big draw and Gregs big £500 draw which will now take place in the new year with club finances stretched this season to the absolute maximum.
The club are hoping their big local Derby with Worksop will go ahead on Boxing Day at Stoke Lane 3pm, worksop are having an outstanding season and it will prove an almighty test for the Millers, but having not played for two weeks, it is a clash both clubs will be relishing.
Finally congratulations to our Academy Side who finished the year with an away win last week beating then table toppers Rushall Olympic, who dropped to second following the 2-1 loss to the Millers Young side with Ethan Ruth and Aston Whitehead getting the crucial goals.
