First Loss of the season for the Young Millers
The reserves experienced their first loss off the season to Castle Donington.
Donington Started much better than carlton, Whilst they didn’t really create any clear chances for themselves they were first to everything leaving Carlton second best.
Again the story of the season so far for the young Millers, taking to much time to settle into the game.
Early changes and a bit of a reshuffle from Paul helped the team, they then went on to finish the half the stronger team and had a spell for the last 15 minutes of the first half, where they started to play some good football, Creating some chances but were unable to convert and get players on the end of anything, other than a well taken shot from 25yds from Ellis to give carlton the 1-0 lead at half time.
The second half carlton continued where they left off had a good 15minutes , before they got complacent and giving the ball away to often, trying to over play, sloppy clearances & long balls allowing donnington to get back into the game!
For the last 30 minutes other than a potential penalty shout on isaac for carlton, the game was only going to go one way! with Carlton continuing to over play and poor clearances allowing Donington to take the game and run out winners 2-1.
A tough lesson for the young Millers but need to learn quickly, mistakes in youth football often go unpunished compared to men’s football.
Credit must go to castle donington never gave up and fully deserved the Win!
