FINELINE, GREG HILL AND CLERKY TAKE TOP THREE POSTIONS IN GOLF DAY.
Carlton Town’s 20th Annual Golf Day was held at Ramsdale Park for the first ever time and went down a treat with participants and was was attended with 20 teams in the end competing for the top three postions.
It was one of the clubs major sponsors Fineline who won the first prize of Nottingham Forest Hospitality against Newcastle United , so massive congratulations to Lee Hinton, Chris Duffield, Lee Froch and Ben Cullen who made up that team and won with a score of 92.
In Second place with an excellent score of 91 was popular Carlton Town Supporter Greg Hill and his team made of himself, son Zak Hill who of course plays for the Millers and H Jones and E wright.
It was great to see Zak and indeed Andy Clerke (pictured together) from the first team set up on board, representing the Millers.
In Third place was Loom Talent with Millers Assistant Manager Andy Clerke, Matt Simpson and Joe Mack taking to the greens and scoring a fine 87.
Fineline 2 and DW Roofing also scored 87, but Loom Talent won the prize due to their better score on the tough back nine.
£635 was raised on the raffle hosted by Chairman Mick Garton, who also came back for the presentation and thanked Mark Steggles who presented the prizes and who had organised and overseen the event and secured Sponsorship, ably assisted by his right hand man, Carlton supporter Dave, club photographer Lou Lardi and there was a massive thankyou to main sponsors Mellors and Mellors.
Nearest the pin prizes were also given out and participants were also able to claim their raffle prizes as they came into the clubhouse, with winning stubs being stuck onto the 20 prizes including a first prize of a four Ball at Ramsdale.
The format for the raffle was the result of a subtle change made by Stegs and went down well, thankyou to everyone who brought tickets and indeed competed in what was a memorable day ending in late summer sunshine at Ramsdale, one feels the Millers will be back there next year !
