FANTASTIC GESTURE FROM NOTTS COUNTY SUPPORTERS GIVES MILLERS ANOTHER ENERGY BILL BOOST!
Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton was asked to attend a debriefing at the Navigation Pub on Meadow Lane following the Notts County v Juventus Supporters Match at Stoke Lane at the end of the season and was surprised and delighted to receive a donation of £200 towards the horrendous energy bill.
Carlton Town season ticket holder, Julian Wilson himself a Morecambe fan had been working with Garton to secure their pitch for the game and the donation means the club have received donations from both Nottingham Forest and Notts County Supporters clubs towards the 8k Energy bill.
Here is Matt Lawson’s Brillant match report.
Notts V Juventus Success!
Hundreds of fans arrived at Carlton Town FC on Saturday 20th May, for a superb exhibition match between Notts County and Juventus, set up by fans of the clubs.
The rollercoaster match finished 3-3 and was settled on penalties when the Italians claimed victory, in a game enjoyed by all watching.
Head Coach for Notts County, Matt Lawson said “We thank all at Carlton Town for making us feel so welcome. Particularly to Chairman Mick Garton who has been incredibly kind in allowing us to use the great facilities. To Bob, Lou, Neil and the team off the pitch, they were brilliant.
We had a great day and the players enjoyed themselves, playing some brilliant football representing two iconic clubs with pride. Huge credit to our coaching team Ian Baggott, Julian Wilson and Alan Higgott, we all look forward to getting going for next season and building on this success”.
Money was raised for a local men’s mental health charity as well as making a significant donation to Carlton Town.
Fans enjoyed the action on the pitch as well as meeting the delegation from Italy who came over specially to represent Juventus on the day.
We look forward to hosting this event in the future and working with the Notts County management team again as they grow links between England and Italy.
The donation means that if Kelly’s fund raising target reaches its target of £1,000 and its now on £900, the Sports day should raise enough to bring this to a conclusion will the full bill covered.
