FA CUP DRAW , SPONSORS FOR SATURDAY, VIP GUEST, WEBSITE IMPROVEMENTS AND CHARITY GAME SUNDAY !
Welcome to our Monday night update from Stoke Lane and we have plenty to report.
The Millers must beat a step 3 side away from home if they are to progress into the second qualifying round of the Fa Cup as they were drawn away to Nuneaton Borough from the Southern Premier League . A tough draw to a team that have previously knocked out the Millers in 2009-2010 after a replay, but one they will believe they have a chance in given the teams excellent start to the season. The game will take place on Saturday 2nd September at Nuneaton.
Boatsy reports good news on the Saturday Sponsorship front with Dave Hodgson sponsoring the programme and Morley Gas Services the Matchball for the game v North Ferriby at Stoke Lane.
Boatsy can also announce that former Carlton star Jarred Holmes will be our very special VIP Guest on Saturday and Boatsy is looking for a VIP sponsor for the game at just £60. Jarred will be interviewed by the Millers Chairman at 2.30pm in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar.
The next bit of news is about the club website which is currently undergoing a bit of a makeover with changes a plenty, we will tell you more about that in the coming days, but we can reveal our new Carlton Town in the Community section will feature a lot of the stuff the Millers do which inevitably sometimes falls under the radar.
The Foodbanks , Charity matches and kind gestures which our community football club is proud of and we will post some articles from archives about much of the work that has been done since covid struck our great nation as a starting point for this new important section on our website.
Talking of work in the community, we are delighted to comfirm that as a club we have provided our facilities for a massively important Charity Football Fundraiser at 2pm this coming Sunday 27th August when we we are supporting the Rainbows Hospice Charity in memory of Nottingham Police Inspector Andy Wilson’s daughter Isabelle who sadly died in June. A number of the Carlton Commitee will be at the ground helping out for this very special day and those attending can donate by making a donation on the gate and supporting the raffle to be drawn in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar after the game.
Finally just a reminder that the Millers do have an away game this week when they travel to Winterton Rangers on Wednesday 23rd August for a 7.45pm kick off.
