EXTRA CAR PARKING SECURED FOR LEGENDS GAME ON SUNDAY !
Carlton Town can confirm they have secured extra car parking for Sundays legends game between Manchester United Legends and The Legends of Nottingham which kicks off at 1pm at Stoke Lane.
Most of the players are travelling in by car and with a high number of staff and volunteers required for the game, along with Health and safety protocols, parking is limited inside the ground and the only way to park inside the Bill Stokeld Stadium is through the vip parking offered by Superstar speakers at £20 per vechile if there is any remaining.https://www.superstarspeakers.co.uk/product-page/legends-match-car-park-ticket
Street parking is available on Emerys Road which can be approched from the Burton Road end of Stoke Lane leaving a few minutes walk down to the ground.
Extra parking is now available at the Carlton le Willows school on Burton Road close to the top of Stoke Lane, a massive thankyou to the Carlton Le Willows Academy for stepping up to the plate after an offer received by a local business to help on the retail park opposite the ground was blocked by their landlords on Friday morning.
Below is a full joint statement put out by the club and Superstar Speakers giving all the travel and parking options on the day.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Parking at the Bill Stokeld Stadium (Carlton Town FC) on Sunday is for participants and permit holders only, please note there is no availability for pay on the day.
Many people who attend the ground over a season come by train, it is a 25- minute walk to the ground from Netherfield Train Station.
To come by bus, the Nottingham Transport number 26 drops off close to the ground near the Carlton le Willows school, but those catching the number 24 should get off earlier at Morrisons Netherfield and walk the remaining distance to the ground which is about 20 minutes.
These buses can be caught in Nottingham City centre on King Street, just off the market square. Superstar Speakers and Carlton Town FC advise people to get there early and use public transport where possible.
There are a limited number of parking spaces in the industrial estate across from the ground, down Stoke Lane. Turn right & then right again if coming from Nottingham at Stoke Lane and turn left and then right if coming from Burton Joyce (off the A612).
If using on street parking around the new housing estate behind the Aldi on the A612 please be respectful to residents and don’t block their access. This is approximately 400 yards from the ground. In addition to this there is a big retail park which has free parking and no time restrictions further up the A612 in the Nottingham direction (this is approximately 600 yards from the ground).
Off Burton Road, there is parking at the Carlton le Willows Academy who have kindly given permission to use it for spectators on the day. At that end of Stoke Lane, which many sat nav’s will take people to. There is on street parking on side streets, particularly Emerys Road, which is a short distance from the ground. Once the carpark becomes full at Carlton le Willows, there is on street parking on the housing estate opposite the school.
NOTE: A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is in force for parts of Stoke Lane and No Parking / No Loading cones will be in place and enforcement is likely. Please do not breach this parking order.
