EXCITING NEWS FROM STOKE LANE AS THE PRESIDENT RETURNS!

Carlton Town are delighted to announce that their long standing President Roger Smith is out of hospital after over six long months and is expected to be back at Stoke Lane for this Saturday’s visit of Bishop Auckland.

Roger has played for the club and also held the Chairman’s role in past years and is assured of a warm welcome back to the club he loves and is loved by the Carlton Town family.

Roger is now able to walk again with a frame, but is having to spend much time in a wheelchair, but on a positive note, we are sure he will have the wheelchair equivalent of a Porsche.

A number of the Carlton Town faithful have visited Roger in hospital in both Nottingham and more recently Sheffield and in particular Tommy and Tina Brookbanks who go back along way with Roger and his lovely family.

Chairman Mick Garton told us “We can not  wait to welcome Roger and Viv back to the Bill Stokeld Stadium, he was in great spirits when myself and Dave Hodgson visited him in Sheffield recently and holding court among the nurses and new friends he has made in hospital, he also spoke of how much he was looking forward of coming back to the Bill”

”A warm welcome awaits him indeed “ concluded the Millers Chief.
