EVERTON MANAGER STEPS UP TO THE PLATE FOR BOATSY AND THE MILLERS !
Carlton Town Commercial and Marketing Manager Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke has had a welcome boost as he continues on his fund raising crusade for the club.
Supporters will be aware of his efforts to support the playing budget and the usual utility invoices, but Boatsy often has to think outside the box to help with the extra costs, the unknowns and the one off costs that can be significant.
Recent examples are the fencing that got destroyed during the storms last winter, with the invoice only recently paid and the renewed Electric certification needle for the stadium, which has recently been completed and comes to around 6k, chuck in the maintaince and repair of the floodlights, constant watering of the pitch during the summer, the Millers know they have a substantial invoice on the way from Severn Trent.
Chairman Mick Garton and Boatsy often fill Football cards in the Boot Room and with guests invited to Hospitality at Forest offered the chance to win cash or more hospitality at Forest or Trent Bridge.
But a Premier League Manager has this week stepped up to the plate for Boatsy and indeed the club.
While having a Sunday afternoon drink with Boatsy and other friends last weekend, Everton Manager Sean Dyche told Boatsy “ I will sort you something out to try and help your club Carlton Town” Boatsy mentioned it to Chairman Mick Garton on Monday and within a couple of days, signed pictures, a signed football and a Squad signed Everton shirt arrived at Boatsy’s home.
These are being taken in for framing and Boatsy is helping he can sell or auction these off among his many Everton friends to help Carlton Town Fc.
Anyone interested can contact Boatsy on 07907 064189.
An example of the fund raising going on behind the scenes is below when the latest Football Card was scratched off in front of Carlton Town Tv at the City Ground and raised £400 for the club at Forest’s recent Caribo Cup clash when they lost on penalty’s at the City Ground to Newcastle United.
“A massive Carlton Town Thankyou to Sean Dyche for what is a lovely gesture indeed” said Chairman Mick Garton.
