DRAGON FUND BOOSTED TO OVER 1.9k BUT MORE JOBS TO BE DONE AT THE GROUND!

A supporter who wishes to remain anonymous called in at Msr Angel Row today when he saw Carlton Chairman Mick Garton serving on the till and donated £50 to the Dragon fundraiser and spoke of his delight at the appointments of Tommy Brookbanks and Mark Harvey.
He told the Chairman he believed gates would rise following the appointments and pointed out he had attended 25 games last season but seen only 2 wins and 2 draws in that.
A £10 donation from Former head of Carlton Le willows head of sixth form Neil Kendrick takes the figure to £1,940 when all the donations have come in.
The money has paid for urgent work on the clubs pitch and work on the fire alarm system and towards urgent electrical work.
Essential Work in the clubs dressing rooms will cost the club £1,280 and there are a number of repairs and the mentioned Electrical work which still need doing.
The club will look to step up their summer fundraising with an in house race event being discussed with a view to holding it straight after the Hucknall Town friendly on Saturday July 13th and Nottingham Greyhound Stadium (pictured) have been in touch following the appointments of Brookbanks and Harvey offering to help the club with a night at the dogs, which is likely to happen on a Friday night in July.
The club are also in talks with Impasto Restaurant on Castle Boulevard with a view to holding a preseason fundraising dinner at which Tommy Brookbanks will speak.
Once the programme of summer events has been agreed, announcements will follow with all money raised going to the vital repairs and redecorating of key parts of the ground.
More volunteers have also come forward with a view to helping the club since the appointments of the new management duo and just two days ago, we were able to announce a second race day at Southwell Racecourse on Monday 26th August with tickets at just £10.
There are still some enormous challenges to meet at Stoke Lane, but with a Commitee meeting to come this Saturday at 1pm and ideas being put forward thick and fast, the mood has most certainly changed to one of positivity and the supporter who called in at Msr Newsgroup today was certainly motivated by that!
