DISAPPOINTING NIGHT FOR CARLTON AS POOR RUN CONTINUES
Carlton Town fell to their third home defeat in a row if you include the County Cup defeat against Sherwood Colliery and are certainly facing a dip in form at the moment.
The Millers made an excellent start to the season, following on from last year’s playoff campaign, but have currently hit a bump in the road and despite matching Dunston in most aspects of Tuesday night’s game, they were unable to match the impressive visitors in front of goal and that was the difference between the two sides on a cold winter’s night at Stoke Lane.
Scott Robson was the man who produced those two big finishes for Dunston with a clinical finish when Carlton got opened up in the first half and a late penalty that saw Felix Pick up a yellow card.
Felix had earlier kept Carlton in the game with a wonderful save and lively substitute Harry Goddard nearly forced the equaliser, but drew a fine save from the Dunston keeper.
The Millers travel to Brighouse on Saturday and will be hoping, someone in the team can put their hands in the air and help get the campaign back on track, with a goal or two .
Carlton drop to 13th in the table following the defeat and joint manager Mark Harvey spoke to Carlton Town Tv after the game.
