CRACKING FRIDAY NIGHT AT STOKE LANE AHEAD OF CHASETOWN CLASH
- Carlton Town continued their impressive form on speakers events with Radio Nottingham’s long time Nottingham Forest correspondent Colin Fray the clubs very special early season guest at Stoke Lane as the club started a busy 48 hours.
The highly impressive Fray was joined by Nottingham Forest Commercial Manager Simon Fotheringham who interviewed him in the packed Howard Mitchell Sportsbar.
Fotheringham to was on fine form as Fray told stories of his 30 plus years covering the Reds and the Millers commercial team were also on excellent form helping raise crucial funds for the club and a special Thankyou to Tim and Gaz Bee once again.
It was young Charlie Clarke (pictured with our guests) who spent a day at the Forest training ground towards the end of last season, getting a football signed by the whole Forest squad including manager Steve Cooper, which he then donated to the club and was the special prize for the “Trust me raffle” which raised a cracking £420. Supporter Bob Hales let out a huge cry when he realised he had won the superb prize from the squad that retained Premier League status against all the odds last season.
MSR Newsgroup kindly sponsored the event and provided Heads and tails prizes, Silent auction prizes and super draw prizes which also contributed to a successful fund raising evening.
Craig Bedford won the Corporate tickets for Forest v Tottenham, Dave Skevington won the Everton ones and Mick Greenwood’s Dad won the Brighton ones.
Lou Lardi was on photography duty and his photos will appear in due course and Carlton Town Tv were at the event and Media Correspondent Josh Hodgson spoke with Colin Fray during the interval and we will put that out in the coming days .
Carlton’s next Speakers event is the Christmas Luncheon with Mark Crossley on Friday 24th November from 1pm in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar, tickets are £40 each and includes Christmas Lunch, a number of tickets were booked during the evening after it was announced by the Millers Chairman, contact Boatsy on 07907 064189.
