CLUB LEGEND PLEDGES TO HELP WITH FUND RAISING AND ANNOUNCES EXCITING NEW SPEAKERS EVENT!
On the back of the World Game Changers-Carlton Town Charity day so brilliantly organised by Boatsy, club legend Martin Ball as now also stepped up to the plate and along with Daryl Thomas and after talks with Chairman Mick Garton, he is putting on an evening with podcast genius Big Jon Parkin.
Bally as he affectionately known is well aware of the challenges faced by the club due to Covid 19 and with stadium Insurance and ground rent running into thousands now due, he is following into the steps of Boatsy and organising an event for the club.
Boatsy did the charity he represents and the club proud last week and indeed has been supporting the club’s fund raising iniatives for the last 3 years and Bally is hoping he can also make an impact.
The Speakers event with Jon Parkin will be on Friday 2nd July and tables of six are £120 to include Burger and chips while individual tickets will be £20 each.
Tables are at this point being restricted to 6 people in case restrictions are not lifted in line with the governments road map which appears to be in the balance.
Bally has received a fantastic early response and is hoping for a sell out, there will also be raffle on the night with one or two great prizes and the evening will be compared by the brilliant Daryl Claypole, a treat in itself!
If the match clashes with a knockout England game in the Euros , it is likely to be rescheduled but at the moment it is full steam ahead.
We caught up with Bally earlier today and he told us “On the back of the amazing charity day that Boatsy put together I thought it would be good to have something a bit different for people at Carlton. There’s been a lot of speakers events with sit down meals but I think a more relaxed speaker evening with Big Jon Parkin, a few pints and a catch up with everyone after such a horrendous time the last year or so is exactly what’s needed. Having listened to the Undr The Cosh podcasts it will definitely be a good laugh with lots of good stories. It will also see Daryl Claypole presenting the evening and anyone who knows Daryl will be well aware of what he will be to the table!”
Martin Ball can be contacted on 07590 302604 to secure tickets and further details re payment and the evening’s schedule will be comfirmed in due course.
