CLUB HOPING FOR FOREST SUPPORTERS BOOST AHEAD OF SEASON OPENER!

Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke has today told us that he has had a number of enquiries off fellow Nottingham Forest supporters about Carlton’s Saturday opening game at Stoke Lane against Ossett United and he is hoping that with Forest playing Sunday, a few will come and support the Millers on Saturday.

Boatsy was at the ground this evening completing some ground work in the car park and putting up new photographs in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar celebrating Carlton’s Senior Cup Final win over Mansfield Town under 23s in May. Chairman Mick Garton and Boatsy’s son Charlie pictured with one of the frames were also in attendance.  ( Look who’s busy in the background )

“We have a true Forest Legend in Colin Barrett as our very special guest, the man who helped put Brian Clough’s brilliant European cup Double winners on the road to glory with his wonder strike against Liverpool, it gave Forest their second goal in their first European game under Cloughie at the City Ground in 1978 and I’m hoping a few Forest fans will come and support us and take the opportunity to come and meet Colin, calls I have taken today suggest one or two certainly are” said Boatsy.

Colin recently celebrated his 70th birthday, but still gets regularly asked about his fantastic goal and is still a regular at the City Ground and was at Wembley for Forest’s recent Championship playoff Final.

Colin will provide the big pre match interview in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar before the game and Chairman Mick Garton will speak to Colin about the playoffs and get his take on it all, along with what he thinks the future holds for the Reds.

Carlton have sold all their Sponsorship packages for this game, so a big thankyou to Match Sponsors Redrow Homes, Guest Speaker Sponsor Msr Newsgroup, Matchball Sponsor Paul Manuel , programme Sponsors World Game Changers and Mascot Sponsors The Peggy Arms at Wakefield.   Our Mascots Jude and Jenson are from our Under 6 development squad and will be Carlton Town under 7 Lions next season, we welcome them and their parents to the game and hope all of our sponsors enjoy a fantastic afternoon of football in the sun.

Kick off at Stoke Lane is at 3pm and it will also be the first visit to Stoke Lane from our new Irish branch and members Mike and Brian Hurley will be attending and meeting the player they have sponsored for a photo Brad Wells.
