Carlton Town are delighted to announce that their two under 13s teams will play a friendly game at 12 midday on the main pitch ahead of the main Charity match at 2pm on Monday 5th May when the club teams up up with Mark Flint and Oakfield Construction to raise money for children with cancer.
This website understands that the teams will make a donation to the charity appeal and help boost the fund which starts this coming Sunday with Mark and members of his family running in the London Marathon.
Carlton Town Dj Casually Dan will be on the decks at the ground to support the day and Chairman Mick Garton and Gary “Boatsy”Clarke will be running the Carlton Town x1, hopefully with the help of local Police Chief and friend of the club Andy Wilson.
Club legend Ian White will be playing along with club kit man Phil Jennings, young striker Harry Goddard, Zak Hill and his lovely family including dad Greg along with Josh and Charlie, the respective sons of Mick and Boatsy.
Carlton Town under 7s sponsor’s “Joy to Care” are putting a lively and we are told impressive opposition team together, from lads that regularly play five a side at the ground and all playing and managing will be contributing towards the charity with a £10 donation each.
There is no charge as such to come in and watch the games, but charity buckets will be on the gate to allow people to donate whatever they so wish or can afford and there will be a raffle drawn after the main game in the Clubhouse, with the two main prizes supplied by Oakfield Construction and MSR Newsgroup, both for corporate Hospitality at Nottingham Forest for 2 people for a game at the start of the 2025-2026 season , both worth well over £500.
Mark Flint and his daughter were on the Radio Nottingham breakfast show on Friday morning to discuss the London Marathon which kicks off the fund raising effort and they also discussed the Nottingham Forest Fa Cup Semi Final game v Manchester City taking place at Wembley this coming Sunday, along with another friend of our club Jonny Owen and the link to hear the excellent interviews is below.
