CARLTON TOWN HAPPINESS FOR AT LEAST SOME !
Despite their current struggles on the pitch , Carlton Town did receive praise this week for an important part of the work they do off the pitch, a lovely letter from Hope Nottingham including a certificate of thanks for the food bank collections which have provided significant help through the Trussell Trust Partnership. The Millers will certainly be in touch with their supporters club bosses to agree another collection before the end of the season and the date for that will be announced in due course.
In another nice story, Chairman Mick Garton told a lucky winner that his Grandad Dave Skerrington had won an auction prize he had donated to the club for the Christmas Luncheon and that he and his Grandad would be in Hospitality at the City Ground next Sunday when Forest take on Everton in what is a massive game for both clubs. (see cover picture)
Chairman Mick Garton told us ” We are proud at the work we do in the community, so it was nice to receive the recognition from Hope, we will continue to do what we can to help on an ongoing basis” “Regarding Dave and his grandson, that was a lovely moment when I broke the news to him, he was so happy, I wish we had recorded the moment, he said he could never get a ticket, like so many others, I have auctioned off quite a few spaces this season to help pay the bills at Carlton, given the pressures we are under at Stoke Lane, this was a really nice one to pass on” concluded the Chairman.
The Chairman also revealed that Mark Harvey had told him that Tyler Blake had moved on to Eastwood Cfc over the last few days to join up with his former team Mates Martin Ball and Daryl Thomas who took over as Joint managers recently, the club wishes Tyler well and thanks him for his contribution over the last few seasons.
Finally a massive thankyou to Dave Bothwell from OTTR whose Electronic Scooters were a prominent presence at the Bill Stokeld on Saturday and will be for the remainder of the season and to Guest Speaker Ekow Eussmanwho proved a real hit at Stoke Lane.
