CARLTON SEEK SPONSOR FOR GOLF DAY AFTER FANTASTIC EARLY RESPONSE TO MOVE TO RAMSDALE

Carlton Town announced last week that they had moved this year’s Annual Golf Day to Ramsdale Park after a staggering 19 years at Oakmere Park.
Club President Roger Smith made the decision to move the event this year for what will be the 20th and the response to the move has been excellent.

Since we announced the move, Mark Steggles who has stepped up to the plate to organise the day, with Roger still sadly in hospital, says the number of teams entering the event is now in double figures, following his announcement of this year’s event on Friday 20th September from around 11am.

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton made his first ever visit to Ramsdale Park and met Chairman Mark Northern, Stegs and Millers supporter Mick Greenwood who will be captaining one of the two MSR Newsgroup teams entering this year.

Although Garton admits he his not personally very good at golf and hasn’t played in recent events, he has committed to selling raffle tickets on the day and has donated the first prize for the winning team of 4 worth over £1,000 which is Corporate Hospitality in an Executive Box at Nottingham Forest for the game v West Ham on Saturday 2nd November.

As well as looking for more teams, Stegs in now looking for an individual or company to sponsor the event and can be contacted on 07779 276103 for further details.

The entry fee for teams of 4 taking part is £200 and includes a Bacon cob and tea or coffee on arrival and Pie and chips afterwards in the superb Grill bar.

Garton explained to Ramsdale Chairman Mark Northern that it was a big decision for the club to move the event, but admitted to being impressed by what he saw on his visit this week and what he was hearing about the course and the Ramsdale chief said they would do everything they could to make the event a success for the Millers.
