BRILLANT TEAM PERFORMANCE AND A BRACE FOR NEW BOY AS MILLERS DISMANTLE COLESHILL
A massive Carlton Town welcome to new boy Alex Hardwick who hit the ground running with a brace on his debut for the Millers in the Fa Trophy at Coleshill on one the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures hitting 30 degrees in Warwickshire.
Theo Rowe actually gave the home side the lead before Hardwick got into his stride with a superb strike on 40 minutes following an Alex Howes pass, he put Carlton ahead minutes later with a header following a Niall Davie cross before Kyle Sargent made it 3 in first half stoppage time.
Two further goals in the second half completed the dominant win with Lewis Druro and Romella Nangle also getting on the scoresheet.
It was the perfect start to Carlton’s Fa Trophy journey and ironically, the team Carlton must face in the next round also won 5-1. Yes Chasetown beat Shepshed Dynamo by that score as well and will now visit Stoke Lane on Saturday 23rd September for an eagerly anticipated game.
Next Saturday will see the Millers make the trip to step two side Rushall Olympic in the 2nd qualifying round of the Fa Cup
This was a complete team performance which delighted joint manager Tommy Brookbanks and Carlton Town Tv were once again on the spot to get the thoughts of Tommy and new striker Alex who already looks like becoming a fans favourite. The club secured Kit Support for him inside 24 hours with Nottingham’s forthcoming Winter Wonderland stepping up to the plate courtesy of the Mellors group, Ed Mellors looks to have made a good choice.
Young Harry was on recording duty and we look forward to his Match report later, while John Bryson was asking the questions this week and was himself on fine form.
