BOATSY WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR HIS WORK AT CARLTON AND IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Carlton Town Commercial and Marketing chief Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke has won a prestigious award for his work with Carlton Town, Charity and in the local community.

Boatsy thought he was going as a guest to the UNITING NOTTZ awards on Thursday evening, but ended up being presented with an award, which left him emotional and very proud.

After a brief but brilliant speech, former Talk Sports presenter and film maker Jonny Owen presented him with his award at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

Owen spoke of Gary’s work with Carlton Town, his charity work and personal donations to many of the good causes he has got behind and all of it is voluntary.

As well as raising money for the Millers, Gary is firmly part of the community side of the club and as been at the forefront of supporting the Foodbanks and the charity events the club supports every year, particularly in May at the end of the season when the club opens up the facilities to good causes.

This year alone, he has been at the forefront of the Punjabi Forest Charity event which raised over 5k for Emanuel House, who do so much in our city to support the homeless.
He was one of he leading figures in throwing the clubs support behind fund raising for the Ukrainian community and headed up the club’s effort with Nottinghamshire Police to raise 4k for the Rainbows Hospice in 2023.

His work for good causes does not just apply to his role with Carlton Town, he equally supports causes in support of Oakfield Construction for whom he has worked for many years, both with personal donations and using his extensive contact base and social Media presence for good.

Congratulations also from Carlton Town to our Sponsors Lindleys Autocentres who were also recognised for the work they do for good causes and in the local community at the same event and to Jemma Connor-Lomi, who was appointed Manager of Great Britain Poice Women’s side in 2022 and who has appeared in Charity football matches at Stoke Lane.

Actress Vicky McClure and Marcellus Baz, two of Nottingham’s finest were key figures at the event and both on the stage to see Gary pick up his well deserved award.

Carlton Town Tv will endeavour to catch up with Gary in the coming days, but for now enjoy his proud moment.
